Just Because Journal Page

 Good morning

Today I am back with a fun and bright art journal page for you.

I started with paints and stencils. I used a brayer and a few different colour blues to give my page a base coat. I like the brayer as it gives a nice soft finish.

I then used the same blue paints with different stencils (one colour per stencil) to add on top of the base layer. This was a technique I learnt from the lovely Tracy Scott and have had a lot of fun playing with it over the past few years.

The cloud stencil was used last with a soft white paint.

I then used a white gel pen and a circle template to draw on the circles.

The chipboard, Circle Medley DA2462 was coloured using my prismacolour pencils, the little tabs on the bottom of the balloons were cut from the scrap part of the chipboard pack and attached to the back of the round pieces to make them look like balloons.

I then added some white string to the back of each balloon and attached them to my page using a combination of glue and foam tape to give the balloons the bunched and dimensional look. Once the balloons were attached, I tied all the strings together and added a ribbon bow.

The Just Because DA3338 title was again coloured with my prismacolour pencils and glossy accents added over the top to make it shiny and dimensional.

I had a lot of fun creating this page. I hope I've inspired you to look at your ordinary shaped chipboard and be able to turn them into something fun and bright.

A Girl and her Dog - Dusty Attic - Heather Woodall

 Hi all

I'm back again this month with another layout for you. For those who know my scrapping know that I do just a little bit of fussy cutting, and there is just a little bit on this page.

I love Dusty's range of puppy dog chipboard, almost as much as I love my puppy dogs, who you will get to see over the course of the year, so both my puppy Teddy and the chipboard were the inspiration for this page.

I started with the title DA2411 A Girl and Her Dog

I also had these very cute paw print chipboard DA2415 Paw Prints - Dog.

I also had some of the leaves (DA2688 Leafy Frame Set #3) left from my January 2023 mood board page. I have cut these down into smaller pieces and added in between the layers of fussy cut flowers on my page.

All of the chipboard was coloured in using my Prismacolour Pencils. I love to colour, whether it be with pencils, copic markers or paint, and am experimenting with different ways of getting colouring in/on to more of my projects. The larger chipboard is a great base to add colouring pencils to. The smaller paw prints on this one were a bit more of a challenge, but I love the end result and glad I persisted.

Thank you again for spending time with me. I hope that I have inspired you to think of new ways to embellish your chipboard this month.

Heather

Today's Memories are Tomorrow's Treasures - Dusty Attic - Heather Woodall

 Hi all

Happy New Year. I hope you had a safe, relaxing and enjoyable Christmas and New Years, and managed to find some time to sneak in some crafting with your favourite Dusty products.

Well, here I am with my very first Dusty Attic project for you. I'm very excited to be a part of this amazing group of designers, thank you Jen and Jen for having me.

I've used the January 2023 Mood Board as my inspiration for this layout

I've used the leaves from DA2688 Leafy Frame Set #3. I have cut larger leaf in half to give this moon shape. I then did the same to the smaller leaf frame, and then cut one half into 2 pieces so that it would curve better - It's also a good way of making your packet of chipboard go further onto other projects. Also to give the illusion on your current project that there is more there than actually is.

I have also used the title DA2550 Today's Memories are Tomorrow's Treasure's in the gap between the 2 parts of the smaller leaf pieces

I have used my Prismacolour Pencils to colour in all of the chipboard on this page. And the title glossy accents applied over the "Today's" and "Are Tomorrow's" word sections

In behind the chipboard I've also used the stencil DA2666 Leave #4 as a template to trace around, and then have coloured in again using my Prismacolour Pencils

Thank you for looking at my project this month. I am looking forward to sharing many more with you this year.

Happy Days

Good morning all This is a layout I have done using a photo taken of me before I was even married with my beautiful grandfather.
On the base I have used the Scrapmatts doily stencil and texture paste.
The clocks were simply inked with brown ink and the title was a combination of brown ink and blue ink then covered with glossy accents
These 2 layouts are ones that did a little while ago but I thought that I would share with you as one I have used Scrapmatts chipboard and left in its natural raw state, the other I have cut apart and inked in black ink. I love how the black ink on the chipboard makes a great pop on the page
Thank you for spending time with me again Heather

A couple of pages with LOTS of fussy cutting

Good morning This month I have done 2 layouts for you.
The first one is of a beautiful photo of my beautiful niece. I have done my favourite, lots of fussy cutting, but started by simply using the square Floral Design stencil and some texture paste to add some background texture to the bottom half of my page. I have also done some splattering using a large white chalk texta.
Tucked in amongst my fussy cut flowers I've added a few of the lace flowers as well. Then finished off the page with the "Never Leaving" chipboard title which I have just simply inked with white ink and added glossy accents on top
My second layout was using this fun Alice in Wonderland range which, again, I have fussy cut pieces and layered to create my page/story. But I started by using the Medium Blocks stencil and some texture paste which I did very randomly and far from perfectly.
I have also used some the Scrapmatts laces as the ribbons on the ends of the tags on the page. The title is from CB117 Assorted Words 30 and I thought suited me peaking through the trees.
